The Lord holds it all

The statement “When we do life on our own, everything becomes hard, but when we work with the Lord, it all turns out right. The Lord holds it all” reflects a deep spiritual truth that is found throughout the Bible. In essence, it speaks to the idea that when we try to live our lives without God’s help, we are essentially trying to do something that is beyond our own power and understanding. However, when we work with God, we are able to tap into a higher power that can help us navigate the challenges and difficulties of life.

This concept is rooted in the idea of faith and trust in God, which is a fundamental theme throughout the Bible. In the Old Testament, for example, we see the people of Israel struggling to trust in God as they wander in the wilderness for forty years. Despite the fact that God had performed many miracles and wonders to bring them out of Egypt, they still struggled to trust in him and often turned to their own devices to try and solve their problems. However, when they did turn to God and put their faith in him, they were able to overcome seemingly insurmountable challenges and achieve great things.

In the New Testament, we see this same theme of faith and trust in God, but with an even greater emphasis on the role of Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord. Jesus repeatedly tells his followers that they should not worry or be anxious about their lives, but rather to trust in God and seek his kingdom and righteousness first (Matthew 6:25-34). He also promises that those who seek him will find him and that he will be with them always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20).

One of the key ways that we can work with the Lord and tap into his power is through prayer. Throughout the Bible, we see countless examples of people praying to God for help and guidance. For example, in the book of Psalms, we see David crying out to God in his distress and asking for his help and protection. He says, “In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears” (Psalm 18:6). Similarly, in the New Testament, we see Jesus himself praying to God in the Garden of Gethsemane, asking for strength and guidance as he faced his impending crucifixion (Matthew 26:36-46).

Another way that we can work with the Lord is through obedience to his commands. Throughout the Bible, God gives us guidance on how we should live our lives and how we should treat others. For example, in the Old Testament, God gives the people of Israel the Ten Commandments as a guide for how they should live their lives. In the New Testament, Jesus summarizes these commandments by saying that we should love God with all our heart, soul, and mind, and love our neighbor as ourselves (Matthew 22:37-40). When we obey God’s commands, we are aligning ourselves with his will and allowing him to work through us to accomplish his purposes.

However, even when we do trust in God and seek to obey his commands, we will still face challenges and difficulties in life. In fact, Jesus promises us that we will face trials and tribulations in this world (John 16:33). But he also promises us that we do not have to face these challenges alone. He says, “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you” (John 14:18). When we face difficulties, we can turn to God for comfort and strength, knowing that he is with us and that he will never leave us or forsake us.
