“When we do things in a hurry we may have to stay deprived longer than we expected because the right things of life does not come easy. They take time, they follow due process. They are from the Lord.”
These words can be interpreted as a reminder of the importance of patience, trust, and obedience in our relationship with God. The Bible teaches that God has a plan and a purpose for our lives, but sometimes we may not understand or agree with His timing or His ways. We may be tempted to rush ahead of Him or to take shortcuts that seem easier or faster. However, doing so may lead us to miss out on His blessings or to face unnecessary consequences.
The Bible gives us many examples of people who learned this lesson the hard way. For instance, Abraham and Sarah tried to fulfill God’s promise of a son by using Hagar, their servant, as a surrogate mother. This resulted in conflict and pain for everyone involved (Genesis 16). Moses tried to deliver the Israelites from slavery by killing an Egyptian oppressor, but this caused him to flee for his life and spend 40 years in the wilderness (Exodus 2). Saul tried to secure his kingdom by disobeying God’s command to wait for Samuel and offering a sacrifice himself. This cost him his throne and his favor with God (1 Samuel 13).
On the other hand, the Bible also shows us examples of people who waited patiently for God’s timing and followed His instructions faithfully. For instance, Joseph endured slavery and imprisonment for many years before he was exalted to a position of authority and used by God to save his family and many others from famine (Genesis 37-50). David waited for God to make him king over Israel and refused to harm Saul, even when he had the opportunity to do so (1 Samuel 24; 26). Jesus waited for His Father’s will and submitted to His plan of salvation, even though it meant suffering and death on the cross (Luke 22:42; Philippians 2:8).
The Bible also gives us promises and principles that encourage us to trust God and His timing. For instance, Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Isaiah 40:31 says, “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
Therefore, these words remind us that when we do things in a hurry, we may have to stay deprived longer than we expected because the right things of life do not come easy. They take time, they follow due process. They are from the Lord.
